Dealer Insight
Gregg Tompkins
Services Offered;
Warranty Compliance Review:
Often
times dealerships may not be aware their claims don’t meet the
specific manufacturer's compliance standards until it’s too late.
Having an auditor tell you your claim procedures are less than
perfect can prove devastating. This is where WE™
can help. Along with compliance reviews, other applicable areas of
concern will be addressed, such as Warranty Expense Reports,
Dealer Self Reviews, Warranty Parts Retention and your Warranty
Receivable Aging Schedule. Warranty claims will be reviewed and
procedures implemented to greatly reduce, or eliminate, the
possibility of chargeback during an audit. WE™
also provide a written report outlining any identified deviations
from the factory policy along with suggestions to avoid them in
the future.
Warranty
Administration Training:
While manufacturers
offer classroom training for warranty administration, it doesn’t
come close to what is needed to properly prepare for, or avoid,
the stumbling blocks that occur in the real life of a service
department. You need someone to work with YOUR people, in YOUR
dealership on YOUR paperwork. With many manufacturers cutting
warranty advances, it’s important that your people are properly
trained so you have proper legitimate cash flow. Gregg is
available to assist your staff in your comfortable environment
with your paperwork that you generate on a day to day basis.
Audit Assistance:
With the number
of warranty audits increasing and becoming more devastating from
almost all of the manufacturers, it’s important that you have
someone on YOUR side to fight for you! With Gregg’s expertise, he
can offer you assistance before, during and after an audit. Gregg
can assist you before an audit by reviewing your claims for
deficiencies before the auditor does. He can also assist your
dealership with the review of all chargebacks and write appeals on
questionable debits.

|
|
Randy Shepard has been associated with
automobile dealers since 1960. He has worked in every facet, from
the ground floor up to Parts and Service Director of a multiple
store franchise. Claims
initially were only processed for Ford Motor Company. In 1987, Randy
began processing claims for DaimlerChrysler and in 1992, he added
General Motors. Due to influx and growth of multiple franchise
dealers we have also added the following imports to the mix:
|
|
|
|
-
Nissan
-
Kia
-
Land Rover
-
Jaguar
-
Isuzu
-
And more are being added as necessary

In 1989, Randy began publishing the
best Ford Lincoln Mercury Newsletter available for Parts and Service
Managers called "Warranty Information Tips".
Since 1996, Randy has been publishing an all inclusive Weekly Fax
Edition of the Wizards of Warranty® Newsletter. The primary purpose
of the All-in-One newsletter is to make available all current,
up-to-date information in one reliable source. Also, by
keeping the price extremely reasonable and giving more information,
it allows dealers who have multiple franchises to purchase only
one newsletter instead of four or five. This provides many
additional opportunities to dealers. One of which, being the
ability to see what other manufacturers are doing thus being
forewarned should their manufacturer do the same.
Randy has traveled the country
holding several Warranty and Audit Awareness Workshops. He also has
represented many dealers during Mini Reviews, Audits and Dealer
Policy Board Appeals.
As CEO of Randy Shepard and
Associates, Inc.™, Randy’s role has been to dedicate his working
life to proper Warranty and Policy Administration.
